Green Hotel
At Hope Lake Lodge, we are committed to the environment; whether it is in the preservation of the natural spring fed Hope Lake, or our natural trails that join the Finger Lakes Trail system. Our lodge is designed to be a “green building” as defined by the US Green Building Council’s LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certification program. The mission of the US Green Building Council is to create buildings that are environmentally sound and sustainable. Hope Lake Lodge will be the first LEED certified hotel in New York State!

The facility’s green program focuses on several interrelated elements that make sense for location. Energy efficiency, water conservation, indoor environmental quality, regional and recycled materials are all included in the design. Reduced energy usage and improved guest comfort are achieved through the use of a state of the art Variable Refrigerant Volume (VRV) heating and cooling system. A digital 200 set point control system in each guest room will greatly improve guest comfort by controlling the desired temperature to one degree Fahrenheit. The VRV system will work in concert with a closed cell cellulous insulation system made of 85% recycled materials that provide superior insulation while virtually eliminating outside air infiltration that is common in most buildings.

From energy efficient lights and low flow plumbing fixtures to an ozonator in the commercial laundry facility, few opportunities to save energy and minimize water usage have been missed. Another, more subtle project element is the use of many recycled or local materials used to construct the resort as well as planting indigenous species for the landscaping to eliminate the need for a permanent irrigation system.

The Lodge
The Lodge consists of four unique areas and construction assembly approaches.

  • The Amenities Area of the Lodge. The Amenities area includes Acorn Grill restaurant, commercial kitchen and the Bobcat Lounge pub. This area is constructed of a conventional structural steel and cold formed steel frame similar to many other commercial buildings.
  • The Lodge/Lobby. This area is an authentic timber frame structure housing the main resort entrance and lobby with a grand fireplace, guest registration and the Evergreen Gift Shop.
  • The Condominium/Hotel Tower. This five story structure includes all the residential units, conference rooms, Waterfalls Spa, fitness center and primary hotel operations facilities. This building assembly is constructed of structural steel and cold formed steel framing with precast concrete plank flooring. This assemble will minimize sound transmission between residential units and provides a non-combustible building frame for maximum guest safety.
  • The Water Park. This area will house the game arcade, the water park snack bar and the 150,000 gallon indoor water park. The main water park area will be a pre-engineered building with an integrated insulated panel system for the walls and ceiling. The arcade area will be constructed of structural steel and cold formed steel framing.

The interior décor and finishing details will carry a rustic, Northwoods design theme that the entire family will find comfortable and casual. The utility infrastructure, however, includes many high tech features such as wireless internet throughout the facility, a fiber optic communications backbone and IP telephone system. Guests will use RFID enabled keycards and wrist bands for secure room access and cashless charges throughout the resort- a great advantage for your children. The entire facility will be protected by an automatic sprinkler system and strategically placed security cameras to further enhance guest peace of mind.

From the outside, the Lodge will be reminiscent of one of the historical great lodges found in the Adirondack Mountains including a stone skirt around the base of the building, rough sawn scrolled siding, shake shingles and a forest green shingled roof.
